The State of Connecticut Veterans Stand Down will take place on Friday, September 19, 2025, from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM at six locations: Bridgeport, Southington, Danbury, Norwich, Rocky Hill, and Stamford. This annual event provides a one-stop shop for veterans and their families to access a range of services, including housing assistance, legal aid, employment and education resources, and medical and dental screenings. Free transportation to the event is available.

Below are the instructions on how to obtain a Veterans Flag on your Driver's License or ID card. Applications must be received no later than 30 days prior to the expiration date of your license/ID. Also below you will find the Application to be filled out and returned to the DVA.
This must be completed and submitted via US Mail prior to the Stand Down.
This list is what is required by the Federal Government to obtain a REAL ID. You will need to present these documents at the Stand Down in order to obtain a REAL ID and to get a GOLD star on your driver's license.
